The Christmas Recipe

Julian’s upbringing was such a special one. One of the exciting times for her was Christmas because of the variety of food she had access to. Fried rice also came as a Christmas menu. It was only eaten during Christmas. For years now, Julian had always wondered what gave the rice such a pleasant outlook.

As she grew older, cooking and kitchen affairs became a delight to her. She would try her hands on a number of dishes and recipes. With all that came praises from tasters. This obviously gave her a massive boost in her kitchen experiments.

It was now that time of the year when the Almighty fried rice would be cooked. However, this time was different. She had grown to the point where she was saddled with the responsibility of making that wonder meal. Nervous as she was, she embraced the technological advantage of YouTube. Communication service providers and food content creators would have given her a huge hug that day owing the amount of data used during the “Nigerian Fried Rice Recipe” quest.

Julian settled for the easiest method. The Ingredients include:

- Graciously spiced meat stock (the meat stock contains thyme, seasoning cubes, generous curry, turmeric, garlic, ginger, onion, pepper and salt).

- Rice (the star of the dish).

- Your garnishing (red bell pepper, green bell pepper, green peas, carrot and any other desired vegetable).

- Vegetable oil.

All Julian needed to do was:

-          Put a little vegetable oil in a pot on fire.

-          Add sliced onions and leave till the onion turns translucent.

-          Pour the graciously spiced meat stock and leave till it boils.

-          Pour parboiled rice and leave till well cooked.

-        Pour the diced vegetables and mix (Stir frying the vegetables before pouring into the pot can be an option).

Voila!!! Fried rice is done and ready.

Remember,

Matthew 5: 13 (NIV)

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
